What we keep, and why
kismetPaws makes keepsakes of your pet from a photo you give us. This page says plainly what we store, where, for how long, and what you can do about it. It covers kismetpaws.com and its three product sites (story, tales and stickers), which share one account.
What we store
- Your e-mail address, to sign you in (a code by e-mail, no password) and to send you what you bought.
- Your pet's name, kind (cat or dog) and photo. The photo is stored without its location and camera data. From it we make a cut-out of your pet and the pictures in each product.
- What you bought: the order, the amount and the date. Card details never reach us; they go to our payment provider, Whop.
- What was made for you: the story, the tale's pictures, the stickers and so on, so you can come back to them.
- Technical records needed to run the service: when you signed in, errors, and what a page asked for. Not advertising profiles.
How your photo is used
Only to make your own pet's pictures. The photo and the cut-out are sent to the image model we use (OpenAI) for that one purpose, under their business terms, which do not allow training on your data. We never use your pet's photo in our marketing, as an example, or for anyone else's product.
Where
Our servers are in Frankfurt, Germany (DigitalOcean), with files served through Cloudflare. E-mail goes out through Resend. Payments are handled by Whop.
For how long
- Your pet's photo, cut-out and pictures: two years after your last visit. A month before they would be deleted we e-mail you once; opening your account keeps them another two years.
- Your account and orders: as long as you have an account, and what tax law requires for the orders.
- A preview you made without buying: seven days.
What you can do
- Remove a pet and its photo at any time from My pets.
- Ask us for a copy of everything we hold about you, or to delete your account: [email protected]. We answer within 30 days.
- Stop any e-mails about a preview with the link at the bottom of each one. We do not send newsletters.
Cookies and ads
One cookie keeps you signed in across our sites for 30 days, and one remembers your answer about ad cookies. We use Meta's ad cookie to see which of our Instagram and Facebook ads bring people here: in the EU, the UK and Switzerland only after you say yes, elsewhere unless you say no. When ad cookies are allowed, a purchase or a preview e-mail is also reported to Meta from our server, with your e-mail only as a scrambled code. Every cookie, and your choice: Cookies.
